The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is a charity that improves the mental wellness of Nova Scotians by granting funds to community-based mental health and addictions organizations.

Its volunteer Finance & Audit Committee meets a minimum of four times per year, plus the Annual General Meeting. Each virtual meeting lasts approximately 60 minutes. Committee members oversee financial reporting and controls, review financial policies and procedures, participate in the annual audit process, and identify risk and mitigation strategies.

Committee members will be independent and possess sufficient financial acumen. They will be required to review all circulated materials in advance of each meeting.

The Foundation is currently recruiting a volunteer to join its Finance & Audit Committee. This volunteer should possess integrity and high ethical standards, have strong interpersonal skills, be financially literate, and demonstrate a true passion for changing the way people think about mental wellness, mental illness and addiction.

As the Foundation strives to reflect Nova Scotia’s geographic diversity, candidates from across the province are urged to express interest.
