ABOUT THE EVENT

Each year, the Inspiring Lives Awards presented by Lawtons Drugs recognizes the achievements of four Nova Scotians who have inspired others as they face their own challenges with mental illness or addictions. Nominated by their peers and chosen by a diverse selection committee, each recipient has overcome obstacles and now serves as a champion in their community – inspiring others who face their own difficult circumstances. 

Award recipients have:
  • overcome the challenge of living with a mental illness or addiction;
  • shown perseverance in taking control of his or her life;
  • created greater understanding of mental illness or addictions and reduced the stigma; and
  • inspired and supported others; and contribute positively to their community.
 
In partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association – Nova Scotia Division and presented by Lawtons Drugs, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia will host an official luncheon on Thursday May 6, 2010 at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax . The luncheon promises to be a memorable and inspirational occasion as we honour each nominee and share the stories of four amazing award recipients.
