Rita MacNeil (1944-2013)

The Mental Health Foundation is deeply saddened at the loss of Rita MacNeil; an extraordinary and humble talent, champion for mental health and women’s rights, and a true Nova Scotian icon.

We were fortunate to be graced by her presence at February’s A Different Stage of Mind event. She brought incredible light and joy to the stage, and the lives of those around her. We will always honour this fond memory of her, and reflect on her kind and genuine spirit. May she rest in peace.
