O’Regan’s Automotive Group has made a very generous donation of $10,000 to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia in support of the Community Living Initiative.
O’Regan’s made the surprise donation just minutes after hearing the emotional words of Festival of Trees Black Tie Gala guest speaker Kim Clark. Ms. Clark spoke of the
touching story of her daughter Koral, who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. Kathleen O’Regan addressed the Gala crowd and made the announcement while standing in the RBC Forest of Trees.

The donation became official when Janice Flemming purchased her new 2010 Chevrolet Equinox.
“What a wonderful donation this is to our Community Living Initiative”, said Mary Lou Crowley, President & CEO of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. “Having support from local businesses like O’Regan’s makes a huge difference in our efforts to raise awareness and funds for improved mental health care. We are very appreciative of their donation”.
Construction on the Community Living Initiative in Dartmouth is expected to start in 2010. It will consist of four, ten room units that will serve as transitional homes for patients who are deemed well enough to be discharged from hospital but still needing life skills coaching and other mental health support services before fully integrating into the community.
